Understanding HBF Benefits
HBF offers several different plans with different levels of cover for dental treatments. Keep in mind that some plans also combine dental coverage with services like pharmaceuticals, chiropractic services, physiotherapy and psychology and counselling. So, if you've used those other services, that may impact the amount of dental benefits you have during the year.
HBF runs on the calendar year, which means that benefits reset on January 1st. Any unused benefits from the previous year do not roll over into next year's benefits, so November and December are a great time to review your benefits and schedule any dental treatments you might need, especially preventive cleans and exams.
