Dr Peter Duke

Principal Dentist and Practice Owner

Dr Peter Duke is the owner of Western Smiles Dental Care as well as the principal dentist and clinical director.

Graduated from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom, with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1991, he entered into private dental practice in 1991, then commenced post-graduate studies, earning a diploma in General Dental Practice from the Royal College of Surgeons, United Kingdom, in 1994.

Dr Duke is currently a councillor of the Australian Dental Association Western Australia Branch and maintains a focus on education to keep abreast with the latest techniques and to strive for excellence in his field.

He is very passionate about helping people overcome any fears that they may have about attending to their dental care. 'I am a people kind of person and love to meet new people each day,' he elaborates. 'I enjoy the challenge of running a business and managing a caring and motivated team'.

Dr Duke joined Western Smiles (formerly known as Mirrabooka Dental Surgery) as an associate dentist in 1999, buying into the partnership in 2001 and buying the business in 2009. Over the years, he has steered the practice through an extensive re-development.

Dr Tony Poli

Dentist

Dr Tony Poli graduated from UWA in 1974. He has enjoyed a very varied and successful career in dentistry and brings with him over 40 years of clinical experience. He has worked in the school dental service for 15 years, and during this time he worked in metropolitan Perth as well as providing dental care for rural and remote communities in our state. A memorable position for him was working as a dentist on Cocos and Christmas islands. Tony then returned to Perth, and for 25 years he ran a very successful private practice. He is now caring for our Western Smiles patients.

He brings with him an extensive amount of clinical experience and wisdom. He has a very strong following due to his kind and understanding approach he offers to all of his patients. Tony enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has a special interest in medical hypnosis for dental patients with anxiety. Tony is friendly, caring and very professional, has high standards and strives to provide an excellent patient experience to all patients.

Dr James Ntomenopoulos

Dentist

James graduated from UWA in 1981. As a young enthusiastic dentist he entered in general dental practice, where he has enjoyed a long happy and successful career. James is very passionate about dentistry. His depth of knowledge and understanding is testimony to his lifelong drive to study the latest research and clinical techniques. He has never stopped studying and has kept up-to-date with all aspects of modern dentistry. He has a strong passion for cosmetic dentistry and is very skilled in this area. James is a very empathetic, kind and understanding dentist. He has close to 40 years of clinical and patient experience. He speaks fluent English, Italian, and Greek.

James is a member of the Australian Dental Association and the WA Society of Endodontics.

Outside of dentistry, and when he is not studying online, James enjoys yoga, spending time with his three cats and dining out.

Benji

Therapy Dog

Benji is our Cavoodle, who from eight weeks old has been professionally trained as a therapy dog. He is a much-loved member of our team and is always eager to socialise with anyone that would like to say hello! Our patients and staff agree that Benji does an amazing job providing affection, comfort and support.
